I love it when a plan comes together.

My turn now....Euan has finally let me do some talking! So preparation wise we have paid off the trip fully but now we have to magically find the rest of the money to be able to feed ourselves bugs and snakes!
We have also sorted out our Vietnam visas which look pretty smart in our passports. After the trip we'll have lots of stamps and more visas!
The other day we went to get our second set of rabies injections, slightly nippy but worth the money! I mean one of us has to be manly about it as Euan was sitting squirming, which doesn't make any sense as he gets slammed around in a ring!
So all in all everything is slowly coming together just need to convince Euan that a bush hat is not the way (unfortunately I have caved into the idea of the bumbag, small and very discreet though!)

The preparations continue...

We have been very busy in the last week, preparing for our trip. On Monday we sent away our application forms for Visas to enter Vietnam. On Wednesday we both went for our first Rabies immunisation (another two still to go) of three, at £25 a time!!! We opted against going for Japanes B Encephalitis jags as we would need two at £75 each!!! On Friday I picked up The Quiet American by Graham Greene and Tree of Smoke by Denis Johnson at the Library.

Yesterday we went to the Trespass shop and I spent my birthday vouchers on a pair of walking boots and a pair of flip-flops for the trip. Charlotte was looking at stuff as she will be getting Trespass vouchers for her birthday too! We were at my parent's house for tea and I managed to pinch an 85 litre backpack and we both got waterproof jackets.

This morning I was at the bank emptying out our savings account as we have to pay off the balance of our trip tomorrow. It looks like we do have enough money. Yahoo!!! So tomorrow we will be heading up town to Trailfinders to pay for the rest of the trip. We are both so excited, no turning back now!

On Thursday this week we will be getting our next Rabies jag and possibly getting our anti-malarials. We only need about 8 weeks worth os anti-malarials at £2 a week, which aint too bad at all.

Its all coming together nicely.

We just got engaged in September(2009) and we want to get away and see the world. We figure now is the ideal time before we have any kids or mortgages or any of the responsibility nonsense.

I have also done a pencil drawing of the north gate of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, I will upload the picture at some point.
